DECT Phones - Avaya
The Avaya DECT R4 solution delivers the productivity-boosting benefits of IP and wireless communications across multiple offices in a convenient lightweight handset. It provides businesses with a highly functional wireless solution with the ability to scale to support large numbers of users. This system also supports users in different offices that are connected via a WAN. The Avaya DECTR4 solution radio fixed part or IP base station connects to IP Office via the Ethernet ports, using an IP protocol based on H.323. Each Handset on the DECT R4 network connects wirelessly using the DECT standard. This provides both reliability and security.
This solution supports up to 120 handsets and 32 base stations in IP Office. Each base station can be powered over the LAN using the PoE standard. In addition, each indoor base station can be connected to main power via an external power adaptor (check for local requirements). Outdoor base stations are also powered using PoE. The hand-over between base stations is automatic, eliminating interruptions in conversations and making it ideal for users who roam within their office or across sites.
DECT R4 series IP wireless telephones (3720/3740 and 3725/3749) provide extended mobility both in single site and multiple site environments in a convenient lightweight handset. Both handsets have built-in speakerphone, backlit display, and are headset compatible. The 3725/3749 have backlit color display and support a variety of Bluetooth headsets.

Avaya IP Wireless Solutions offer advanced VoIP clients for wireless networks. They take advantage of the cost savings and simplified management of a converged voice and data infrastructure carrying voice traffic along with data traffic over the same wireless network. The 3641 and 3645 phones are optimized for Avaya IP telephony, working in conjunction with the Avaya Voice Priority Processor for the highest voice quality over wireless LANs. They are field-upgradeable through an integrated TFTP client so handsets can be updated with new protocols, features, and capabilities as they become available.
The AWTS Open Application Interface Gateway enables third-party software applications to communicate with the Avaya IP Wireless Telephones. For example, many companies provide applications that allow these phones to interface to your in-house paging systems, email, and client-server messaging. Other vendors with complementary systems such as nurse call, telemetry, alarm, and control system manufacturers are currently developing applications to interface with the Avaya IP Wireless Telephone solution.
Users can have a choice of an executive or rugged workplace telephone and all the productivity benefits of their desk telephone in this next generation of wireless telephone solutions. A multitude of accessories are available, including a dual charger (full charge accomplished in approximately one and a half hours), a quick charger (full charge accomplished in approximately one and a half hours), a belt clip, a nylon pouch, a carrying case with lanyard, a hands-free pouch, a noise canceling headset, and an over the ear headset.
